September -Why Do I Need To Count My Blessings? - Text: Numbers 21: 1-3

Today I just want us to reflect our mind to the past, there is a saying in my language that “whosoever can think deeply, will be appreciative”. The bible text is just a little part of the story which was about the journey of the Israelites from Egypt. It baffles me alot that after several miracles that the Lord did during the course of the journey, the children of Israel never stopped murmuring. Just take few minutes to read the “DICTIONS” of the Hymn.

Can you even count your blessings?

No! Because they are innumerable.

In the book of Deuteronomy 28: 1-14, it says the Lord will set you high above many nations. Do you even know that the air you breathe in today is because the Lord gave you the privilege, the Children of Israel journeyed through the wilderness to the land flowing with milk and honey but one thing I want us to take notice of is that they never became a prey to their enemies.

The song says “COUNT YOUR BLESSING” and name them one by one. The blessings of being able to even think, read, stand, walk, do things, the blessing of “LIFE” itself. The bible made us to realise that God promised to bless those who bless us and curse those who curse us, but that no curse can stand because Isaiah 47: 19 says no weapon fashioned against us shall prosper.

If I were you, I will just close my eyes and repeat the following “LORD I THANK YOU FOR YOUR BLESSINGS IN MY LIFE”, I have counted my blessings.
